Gas is mostly used in boiler, water heater and stove in our daily life.
1. Stove
If you find the stove cannot be used, you can do the following steps to troubleshoot:
01 No spark, having smell of gas
It is probably because the battery of your stove has run out of battery, you can open the battery compartment on the bottom of the stove. The battery is normally the the D size battery (1号电池).
02 Having spark, no smell of gas
It results from three conditions:
① You should check if the gas has run out. Insert your gas card into the meter to see the gas balance.
② Check if the switch of the gas is opened or not. when the switch is vertical to the pipe which it is connected with, it is closed; when it is parallel to it, it is open.
③ Find the gas meter in the kitchen cabinet, and check if the battery was dead. Replace the battery with another 4 AA batteries, and the stove will work as normal.
03 Having both spark and smell of Gas
Normally, it is because the gas entrance is blocked or something is wrong inside the stove. You need to call the maintance man from the stove brand to solve the problems.
2. Boilers
If the apartment is equipped with underground water heating, the boiler is a must. Boiler warms up the water and keeps the heat cycling in the underground pipe. The household boiler uses gas as its energy.
Take the above picture as example, the right pipe is where the cold water will go in (it is usually the green/blue one); the left one is where the hot water will come out (it is usually the red one); and the middle one (usually the yellow one) is connected with the gas.
When the boiler is out of service, there will be an error code on the screen, you can firstly consult the brand manual paper or manual online and make clear what’s wrong.
If the manual tells that the problem is due to the gas, do the following steps to solve it:
Step one
Try to open the gas stove to check if it is the gas meter problem, if the stove works well, check the switch of the boiler which is fixed with the middle pipe. Samely, parallel to the pipe is open and vertical to the pipe is closed.
Step Two
If there is no stove or the stove cannot be used, take reference the above three stove conditions and to figure out what’s wrong.
3. Water Heater
Normally, if the apartment is not equipped with underground water heating, water heater will replace the boiler to provide daily hot water.
Some water heater use electricity for operation, others use gas. If your water heater uses gas and has the gas problem, do same steps showed about the boiler.
